He was a co-founder, rhythm guitarist, and backing vocalist of the hard rock and heavy metal band Guns N' Roses, which he left at the height of their fame in 1991, and with whom he recorded four studio albums.

A Gibson ES-175D that was reportedly owned by Guns N' Roses guitarist Izzy Stradlin will be going up for auction later this month. The hollow-bodied electric was allegedly used on the Appetite For Destruction recording sessions, and will start with a bid of $50,000..
